Auto-Renewal Policy

Last updated 26 April 2026

This Auto-Renewal Policy explains how auto-renewing SpaWise membership subscriptions work, how renewal billing is handled, and how you can cancel.

It should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions, Membership Terms, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

When this policy applies

This policy applies where SpaWise offers a paid membership, subscription, free trial, discounted trial, promotional access period or similar paid plan that renews automatically unless cancelled.

It applies to:

  • auto-renewing app subscriptions;
  • paid SpaWise membership plans;
  • free or discounted trial offers that convert into paid subscriptions;
  • renewal billing linked to membership benefits or premium app features.

It does not usually apply to:

  • one-off product purchases;
  • non-renewing access codes;
  • complimentary access periods that end without becoming paid;
  • wallet credit, referral credit or promotional credit unless they are attached to a paid renewing plan.

App Store subscriptions

Where you buy a SpaWise subscription through Apple or the App Store:

  • the purchase and billing flow is handled by Apple;
  • the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled in time under Apple's rules;
  • cancellation controls are managed through your Apple account or device subscription settings;
  • Apple's payment, cancellation and refund terms may also apply;
  • SpaWise receives subscription status information needed to manage access, but does not receive your full payment card details from Apple.

Before you complete an App Store subscription purchase, Apple or the App Store purchase screen will show key subscription information such as the price, billing period and renewal terms.

Renewal billing

If your subscription is auto-renewing, it will continue for each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal deadline that applies to your payment platform.

For Apple-billed subscriptions, Apple generally requires cancellation before the renewal date. Apple also advises cancelling free or discounted trials at least 24 hours before the trial ends if you do not want them to renew.

If your payment cannot be taken, Apple or the relevant payment platform may retry payment, ask you to update payment details, pause access, or end the subscription depending on its own rules.

Free trials, discounted trials and promotional access

SpaWise may offer free trials, discounted trials or promotional access from time to time.

Where a trial or promotional period converts into a paid auto-renewing subscription:

  • the price, billing period and renewal basis should be shown before you sign up;
  • the date or timing of the first paid charge should be made clear in the purchase flow;
  • you are responsible for cancelling before the relevant deadline if you do not want the paid subscription to start;
  • access may continue as paid membership if the trial is not cancelled in time.

Complimentary access that does not require payment details will normally end automatically unless we clearly tell you otherwise.

How to cancel an Apple-billed subscription

If your SpaWise subscription is billed through Apple, you should cancel it through Apple.

On iPhone or iPad, you can usually cancel by:

  • opening the Settings app;
  • tapping your name;
  • tapping Subscriptions;
  • selecting the SpaWise subscription;
  • tapping Cancel Subscription.

Apple also provides web and device-based subscription cancellation routes through Apple account support.

If you cannot find the subscription, check which Apple account was used for the purchase, search your email for Apple receipts, or contact Apple Support.

Deleting the SpaWise app does not cancel an Apple-billed subscription. You must cancel the subscription through Apple unless Apple provides another cancellation route.

If SpaWise offers direct billing in future

If SpaWise offers direct website or in-app billing outside Apple in future, we will explain the renewal terms before purchase.

For directly billed auto-renewing subscriptions, we would aim to make cancellation reasonably straightforward, including an online cancellation route where the subscription was entered into online.

The checkout or account area would explain:

  • the subscription price;
  • the billing period;
  • when renewal charges are taken;
  • how to cancel;
  • any trial, discount, minimum term or renewal reminder details that apply.

Renewal reminders and notices

Where required by law, platform rules, or the purchase flow that applies to you, renewal reminders or other subscription notices may be sent before a trial ends, before a renewal charge is taken, or before a longer subscription term renews.

For Apple-billed subscriptions, Apple may provide renewal, billing and cancellation notices directly. SpaWise may also send service-related subscription messages where needed to manage your account or access.

You are responsible for keeping your Apple account, SpaWise account and contact details up to date so renewal and subscription messages can reach you.

Refunds and cancellation rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

For Apple-billed subscriptions, refund requests are generally handled by Apple through Apple's own support and refund process.

Where SpaWise supplies paid digital membership benefits immediately, different cancellation rules may apply under consumer law. If the law allows the right to cancel to be lost once digital performance begins, this should be explained at the point of purchase and acknowledged before billing is completed.

If you think you have been charged incorrectly, or if you need help understanding whether a charge came through Apple or SpaWise, contact us at support@spawise.co.uk.

What happens after cancellation

If you cancel an auto-renewing subscription:

  • you may continue to have paid access until the end of the current billing period, unless Apple or the relevant platform states otherwise;
  • the subscription should not renew after the cancellation takes effect;
  • premium membership benefits may stop at the end of the paid or trial period;
  • your core SpaWise account may remain active unless you separately delete it or ask us to close it.

Cancelling a subscription does not automatically delete your SpaWise account or erase account history. Account deletion is handled separately under our Privacy Policy and app account controls where available.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Auto-Renewal Policy from time to time to reflect changes to SpaWise, membership plans, payment platforms, consumer law, or App Store requirements.

When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Where appropriate, we may also provide additional notice through the website, app or purchase flow.
